Collegium Musicum Chamber Choir, affiliated with the City Culture Center of Olsztyn, Poland was established in 1977. The vocalists are organized according to the model of a Baroque musical society and is not a professional choir, although in its artistic activities the society competes and cooperates successfully with numerous professional musical groups.

Numerous presentations at festivals, awards and prizes won at domestic and international competitions, festivals,  recordings are among the success they have achieved. The choir has performed at hundreds of concerts, including several oratory and cantata concerts. It regularly preforms in Poland and abroad.  

The repertoire of the choir encompasses a wide range of choral music. Vocal and vocal-instrumental music from all periods ranging from Renaissance to modern, sacral and lay, classical and popular, monumental oratory music and chamber miniatures form the unusually rich image of the choir.

Since 1985 under the management of Janusz Wiliński, Collegium Musicum has achieved its major artistic successes winning, among other prizes:

  • Grand Prix Freamunde (Portugal) 2010
  • Second place Vilnius (Lithuania) 2012
  • First places (two categories: polyphony and folk) Prague (Czech Republic) 2013 and others

Janusz Wiliński is a graduate of the Music Academy in Warsaw in the conducting class of prof. Andrzej Banasiewicz. He started his career as the conductor at the parish of St. Joseph,  as choirmaster at the State Philharmonic. Feliks in Olsztyn. Since 1984 he has been the conductor and artistic director of the Chamber Choir of Olsztyn “Collegium Musicum”. He has also collaborated with the University of Warsaw Choir, Choir Academy of Music in Gdańsk and University Choir in Rovaniemi (Finland).

Janusz Wiliński's artistic talent has been honored by the President of the Republic, the Marshal, the Mayor, and he has been awarded the highest distinction by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage - Bronze Medal “Gloria Artis."
