Carmina is the concert group of Rychnov children's choir established in 1992 by the conductor Karel Štrégl. The choir Carmina had hundreds of concerts on stages all around the country, traveled to USA and through the whole of Europe from the Polar circle to Barcelona and Istanbul. The choir Carmina was also very successful in international festivals and competitions. Let´s mention the two gold medals in the international contest in Tampere, Finland – 1999, 1st prize in Ohrid, Macedonia – 2011, 2nd prize in Llangollen, Wales – 2014. Carmina has recorded four compact disc (Carmina 1998, Africa 2002, Christmas Music of Eastern Bohemia 2003, A Merry Christmas of Swing Music 2012). Rychnov children’s choir is a well organized choir today with seven independent choir groups for children from six to the eighteen years old. The choir is a home for 250 singing children. It offers a great chance for everybody who wants to spend their free time in a useful and lovely way.

Karel Štrégl graduated from the University of Hradec Králové in 1987. He worked as an assistant of the conductor Jiří Skopal in the boys' choir "Boni Pueri" and in the same time he was also a conductor and an art director of the women's choir "Vocal Harmony" in Hradec Králové. He was the co-founder and the president of the international contests of chamber choirs "Chorus Camera". He also works as a lecturer at seminars for conductors, and he is invited as juror in choral competitions. He is a member of the artistic board of children choirs Nipos Artama and he is the co-author of the textbook called "Musical Alphabet". With his choirs he has won many awards.

Rychnov nad Kněžnou except for its historical sites, which are located practically in the center, has beautiful surroundings. In addition Kolowrat's castle and other monuments deserves special attention Baroque statues and sculptures from the 18th century to the urban spaces and around the city. From the Jewish Cemetery "On Láni" is a beautiful view of the town and Eagle Mountains. Nature lovers are offered for walks Včelný Forest with Ivan lake, with fishing and rock shrouded in myths.
