The choir was established in the autumn of 1991. One of the members, Eugenija Juzėnienė envisioned the idea of that name and so a wormwood tree was planted in the premises of “Kauno Švara” company.

From it's begining till today several conductors worked with this ensamble : conductor Regina Meilutienė  and choirmaster Daina Marcinkevičiūtė (1991 - 2002), Maestro Rolandas Daugėla (2002-2007), Jovita Kulakauskienė (2007-2011).  Since 2011 the conductor is Audrius Petrauskas, who brings a new wave of ideas to “Diemedis."

“Diemedis” concerts and creative activity includes: Concerts in Kaunas and other cities in Lithuania, festivals and Choir contests festivals in Kaunas, Lithuania. Diemedis also appeared on Lithuania's National TV, evenings dedicated to different composers, religious concerts in Lithuania's churches, creative camps in Šventoji and near Šlavantas lake, Christmas and Easter events.

  • In 2006 and 2008 “Diemedis” was the laureate of sacral music competition “Cantate Domino”.
  • In 2006 – laureate of Olomouce International choir competition (3rd place)
  • In 2007 – laureate of sacral music competition “Cantate Domino” (2nd place)
  • In 2009 the choir had success in the competition “Lithuanian Voices” organized by Lithuanian National Television.
