Robert Eilers founded the choir in 1998. He is currently working as a teacher of music at Gymnasium-Antonianum high school in the town of Vechta, situated in the federal state of  Lower Saxony, Germany. In his youth, he spent most of his free time playing the guitar and saxophone in several bands. He later discovered singing in a choir and worked with several outstanding choirs in Germany. Afterwards, he passed his exam in church music. In the field of classical music, he studied and worked simuntaneosly and was influenced by important, outstanding musicians like Kammersaenger Hermann Christian Polster (University of Music in Leipzig) and Christoph Heidemann (University of Music in Hannover). Since its foundation in 1998, he has been the conductor of the choir Vokalensemble Marienhain. The choir's repertoire includes works of all periods and styles. Numerous sold-out concerts and recordings are witness to that.

The choir has performed in many German cities. The highlights of the tours abroad were concerts at the cathedral of Riga, Latvia and a performance in October 2012 in Novi Sad and Belgrade, Serbia; and, now the choir is going to take part in its first international festival.
